Certified Jewelry Appraisals

We base our fees on the complexity of the jewelry item being appraised, not the value of the item.  We judge how long it will take to  to complete the document and then assign a charge.
Insurance appraisals usually range from $100.00 to $150.00 for the first item. Less detailed items could cost less and more elaborate pieces will cost more. It's all about the time it takes to evaluate and research the item.
Can you get a cheaper appraisal? ABSOLUTLEY! But it will not be an accurate evaluation or valuation of your item. It will be very quickly done with a ballpark estimate with very little detail. Should you have to file a claim, the insurance company only has the appraisal to base the replacement on, so, if the details are not there, you could end up with an inferior item and there is very little that you can do about it because you submitted the appraisal.
When you have CJA appraise you item, and you have to file a claim, we go to bat for you against the insurance company if they try to substitute an inferior item. All of our appraisals are kept on digital files and if you wish, we can even handle the replacement claim for you at no cost to you.
